Both performance teams have wide ranges of experience, “I have been dancing since the end of 8th grade, although I did some ballet for a while when I was younger.” said Sophomore Junior Varsity member Destiny Stevens. Stevens also recounted her favorite part of being on the hip hop team, “My favorite part about hip hop is all of the friendships I’ve made, but also creating art with my body. Dancing allows you to really feel your emotions and just leave them all out there.” Stevens also mentioned her role model, “I aspire to Clara Grantier, who was a senior on the Varsity team last year. Clara always heleped everyone if they needed it, and she was such an amazing dancer herself. She was so kind to everyone, and I really hope to be like that by my senior year.”

Junior Varsity also has two team captains, one of the captains, Junior Kenny Emerson stated, “My responsibilites as captain are cleaning up the routine and making sure everyone is understnading the moves” Emerson also said “My favorite part about being on Junior Varsity is learning awesome routines and meeting new friends.” Emerson has been a member of the Junior Varsity team since the beginning of his Sophomore year and became a capatin at the beginning of this year.
