Don’t Worry About Controlling Your Rights. Worry About Controlling Your Life.

“Every day, more than 110 Americans are killed with guns — and more than 200 more are shot or wounded.”

Gun Violence has been a real problem in the United States for what feels like thousands of years. 27 school shootings alone happened in the year 2022. Not a big deal, right? It’s not like the cops and our government aren’t doing anything about it. No no, they are hard at work working on this problem. They’re doing stuff like twirling their thumbs and running in circles to fix this issue.

However, the solution is right in front of us. The solution is that we clearly need to give everyone semi-automatic guns so people can protect themselves, right? If someone brings a gun to school and tries to shoot up the place, the kids can all pull out their guns and protect themselves. You know, an eye for an eye, fire beats fire, and all that.

The U.S. needs more gun control regulations. While we don’t have to fully get rid of guns, I think we can control guns a lot better. For one, maybe we should not allow the sale of semi-automatic rifles to the public at all. It is too easy to walk into a store and just buy one. Two, look more deeply and thoroughly into the background of the person you’re selling a gun to. Do they have a mental illness? Do they have a criminal record, etc? Three, keep your guns away from your kids. A big factor in most school shootings happening is that kids are getting a hold of their parent’s firearms. Keep your gun out of sight and locked away. These are just good common-sense solutions.

These large issues we have in the U.S. can be easily solved through tighter regulations. Don’t give your kid a gun. Don’t sell guns to crazy people. It’s as simple as that. 27 shootings in 6 months are nothing short of insane, and to just turn a blind eye to all the crazies having guns is just plain irresponsible.
